Our Mission:  As the St. John the Evangelist Parish Family, we are to be Christ’s hand that invites and welcomes all who are looking for the caring and spiritual fulfillment present in the Eucharist and sacraments. With the help of the Holy Spirit, we will become active disciples in God’s work through prayer, faith formation and our service to one another within the parish and greater community.

Summer Prayer
Father, Creator of all, thank You for summer!
Thank you for the warmth of the sun and the increased daylight.
Thank You for the beauty I see all around me and for the
opportunity to be outside and enjoy Your creation.
Thank You for the increased time I have to be with my friends and family,
and for the more casual pace of the summer season.
Draw me closer to You this summer.
Teach me how I can pray, no matter where I am or what I am doing.
Warm my soul with the awareness of Your presence
and light my path with Your Word and Counsel.
As I enjoy Your creation, create in me a pure heart and a hunger and a thirst for You.
Amen.

Community Unity Project
School Supplies Drive

The Community Unity Project, a Delphos community-wide service group, is collecting school supplies for local students.  Their goal is to assemble grade level bags that contain items most common on school supply lists for Delphos St John, Landeck and Delphos Jefferson schools.  Collection barrels will be placed in the back of church from July 26 to August 15.  Supplies we are collecting include Crayola crayons (24 count), pens, pencils, one-subject notebooks, Crayola markers (8 count), glues sticks, Fiskar scissor, two pocket folders and notebook paper.  Cash donation may also be made at the Parish Ministry Center.

Family Perspective

Parents are the windows through which children see “Our Father.”  As we “forgive them of their trespasses" and nurture them with “daily bread” of food and affection, they will see God as loving and forgiving.
